Could New Garbage Trucks Be Coming to Tavares?

Two new garbage trucks could eventually join Tavares' waste collection fleet. A September 16 City Council agenda included a proposed Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant to help purchase the vehicles. New equipment could support reliable service and address long-term maintenance needs. However, the agenda alone does not confirm whether the grant was accepted, how much funding is available or when trucks might arrive. No changes to collection schedules have been established by this proposal. The city's final meeting record will clarify the decision.
