What Happened

Mount Dora announced October 21 that residential water-account inspections have begun under its backflow-prevention program. The city contracted with HydroCorp for inspections and compliance work.

Why It Matters

The program addresses connections that could allow contamination into the public water supply. The city says residential irrigation systems require backflow-prevention assemblies and annual testing.

Who It Affects

Residential metered customers may see inspectors gathering information outside their properties. Inspection staff will carry Mount Dora identification badges.

What Changes

Customers needing an assembly or corrective work will receive separate instructions. Others may still be contacted about follow-up testing.

What’s Next

Inspections will continue until properties have been evaluated. The notice gives no completion date. Questions go to HydroCorp at 844-493-7660, extension 5152.
